We are working with with a manufacturing business in Leeds who are looking to recruit a Director of Finance into their UK Head Office – £80000 – £100000 plus car allowance and competitive benefits.

This is a key leadership role where you’ll work closely with the Operations Board and teams across the business.


About the Role

As Director of Finance, you’ll be responsible for more than just the numbers. You’ll bring insight, challenge, and leadership across all areas of the business – not just Finance. You’ll work at a strategic level but stay connected to the day-to-day, making sure they stay compliant, make smart decisions, and continue to grow in the right way.

Some of the things you’ll be getting involved in:

  • Helping to identify financial and strategic risks – and making sure they have strong governance in place.

  • Communicating financial performance clearly and honestly to the Operations Board and other key stakeholders.

  • Acting as the voice of Finance in strategic conversations and holding senior teams accountable for results.

  • Leading the budgeting, reporting and forecasting cycles to meet both group and statutory deadlines.

  • Maintaining a high standard of financial control and ensuring  policies and processes are followed.

  • Managing balance sheet integrity and taking ownership of working capital across the group.

  • Overseeing tax compliance with support from external advisors.

  • Providing clear, useful data to support areas like insurance renewals, lease decisions and other commercial activity.

  • Overseeing governance and compliance across key support functions – including Finance, Payroll, HR, Health & Safety, IT, and Quality.


About You

Ideally you will be someone who naturally pays close attention to detail, but also knows how to step back and see the bigger picture. You’re confident in your technical knowledge, comfortable challenging senior stakeholders, and enjoy being part of a wider team.

What they are looking for:

  • Strong technical accounting background (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

  • Solid experience in risk, compliance, and/or governance roles.

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

  • A collaborative approach – you’re happy to get stuck in, share ideas, and help others succeed.

  • A hands-on attitude and a willingness to lead by example.
