Our Client
A well-established accountancy firm in York is looking for a Client Manager who can lead from the front, build strong client relationships, and support their team in delivering high-quality work.
The Role
As the Client Manager, you’ll be the main point of contact for your clients, managing relationships and ensuring they receive an excellent service. You’ll also lead a team, support their development, and keep operations running smoothly. This is a role for someone who wants to be a trusted advisor, not just a number cruncher.
Day-to-day responsibilities include attending client meetings, reviewing team output, identifying opportunities to offer additional services, and ensuring deadlines are met. You’ll keep workflow on track and liaise with the board and other managers as needed.
What You’ll Need

An accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)

Strong accounting knowledge and an understanding of tax fundamentals
-
Experience managing people and developing their skills
-
Confident client communication skills, including handling difficult conversations
-
Proficiency with Excel, Word, and accounting software (Iris is a bonus)

Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
-
A practical, hands-on attitude during busy periods
-
The ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail
