We’re looking for a Fixed Asset Finance Manager to join a PE backed business in Leeds city centre.
This isn’t just about crunching numbers – it’s about taking real ownership of the fixed asset accounting and helping the business make smarter decisions.
You’ll be the go-to person for everything fixed assets: maintaining the register, making sure capitalisation and depreciation are spot-on, and supporting the team through year-end reviews and audits. You’ll also keep an eye on expenses, costs, helping the business to understand where they’re spending money and whether it’s driving value.
This is a hands-on role where accuracy and attention to detail really matter – but so does your ability to explain things clearly to non-finance colleagues. Our client is looking for an individual who can spot the story behind the numbers, not just produce a report.
What you’ll be doing day-to-day:
- Taking ownership of the fixed asset register and making sure it’s always accurate and up to date
- Managing capitalisation and depreciation with a sharp eye for compliance (UK GAAP/IFRS)
- Supporting expense reporting – from monthly analysis to working with budget holders to ensure costs make sense
- Helping to drive process improvements so reporting is quicker, cleaner, and less manual
- Partnering with auditors, ensuring everything is lined up and no surprises at year end
- Managing and developing a small team, supporting them in their development
What good looks like in this role:
- Reports land on time, every time
- Zero unexplained variances – you know the numbers inside out
- Clear, useful insights on how money is being spent and how assets are being used
- Positive feedback from stakeholders who know they can rely on you
- A team that’s engaged, motivated, and learning from you
About you:
- Ideally you’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- You’ve got strong technical grounding in accounting standards, especially around fixed assets and cost allocation
- You’ve worked with month-end, reporting, and forecasting – ideally in a fast-paced or service-based business
- Excel is second nature to you, and you’re comfortable with ERP systems as well as automation tools like Power BI or Tableau
- You can translate complex financial info for non finance colleagues and you’re not afraid to challenge when needed
Why this role?
Because you’ll get the mix: responsibility, visibility, and the chance to make a difference. You’ll own your area, have a direct impact on how the business sees its assets and costs, and get to work with a supportive finance team that values insight as much as accuracy.
Hybrid working is on offer with 2 days in the office, and then the flexibility of working from home.
